Just got this in at the dealership. It's not ours, it's here on consignment from the owner. It's a 1963 with 96,000 miles and looks really good. I got to drive this thing down to get some fuel in it and it felt great. Power steering is really good as well. Aftermarket AC system is there, though I don't know how well it works at the present time. I felt like if I were pulled over by a police officer I would need to procure a boat license. I don't have a boat license. Anyway, here's a picture. I have more but this is the one I like the best. Just felt I would share.

The x frame impalas just ride great. I loved the 63 style with all the engine turned pieces on the ss cars.

Aw yeah.

The AC system probably sucks. Older cars like those used R-12 Freon (if I remember right) that got banned sometime in the last decade or two, so I've heard of a lot of guys getting cheap AC systems as a quick fix to having to run "weaker" freon through a more inefficient stock AC system. But this is all hearsay, so take it with a grain of salt.

327, I assume?

The AC is probably great. My dad used to do heating and cooling work, so we still have some R-12 laying around. Works like a charm in my Cutlass, but it really drains the power. I think the system is capable of cooling a small house.

I had my old R-12 Bronco system serviced. They recycle the old stuff and reuse it. There is still a bit of it available.

Sick! Fire that cold-blowing baby up, then!

I lamented the day when my father's truck (which hadn't had the freon ever replaced in 15 years, it still blew ice cold) had to get the R-12 replaced a few years ago.

"Power steering is really good as well". If I remember right those things had no input feel. You could give the wheel a hard spin and it would go full turn with no input. Recirculating ball steering was great for boats back then but it had no response.

327 I assume? Nice car.

I like it. I mean I like the two door SS cars more but those have prices to match. This would be just as much fun at a much lower price. I didn't even know that they came with skirts so I'm glad to see them just for the education.

327 yes. It says SS on the site on the C-pillar but I was informed that the placement of the decal, size of the motor, and lack of flags on an emblem on the front quarter panel make that impossible.

Yes 327. I didn't say it had feel, more commenting on the fact that I didn't need to workout 6 days per week to turn it. You are right though, it will spin.

Also the AC is a definite afterthought but it looks to be added soon after the car was produced.

It's for sale. Not sure on price yet. I can let you know. :)

Removable. I was put off by the color at first but after the barn dust was washed off and the car was buffed it was a different story.

It's really a stellar ride. I think they will likely ask about 12 large for it which I didn't think was that bad.

It might be a touch high depending on engine and options, but if it's in good condition I don't think it's totally unreasonable. They are starting to get rare since they're popular with both the muscle car crowd and the lowrider guys.

The other bit of good news is it's completely unmolested. Other than the faux-SS badge it's clean. Paint is in excellent shape (after light buffing). That's just the number I have heard bumped around. It will likely be less.

Same. I am almost completely certain I wouldn't change anything either. Which for ms is extremely strange.
